A sliding door keeps floor space clear beside the opening. A swinging French door needs room for its panels to open. Compare the usable opening, furniture placement, screen options and daily traffic before choosing.
Replacing a door within an existing opening differs from widening the opening or converting a window into a door. Frame condition, threshold, drainage, flashing and surrounding finishes determine the installation scope.
AMG’s guide lists Ply Gem 960 sliding doors at $4,350–$7,450 and Anlin Malibu sliding doors at $4,850–$9,050 for door plus standard installation. Tax, access, frame repairs, structural work and nonstandard trim may add cost. Compare written quotes for the same scope.
Bring photos of both sides of the opening and note the door size, number of panels, preferred operating style and any leaks or frame damage. Confirm applicable permit and HOA requirements for your property before work, especially for opening changes. Measurements and the installation method are confirmed on site.
Manufacturer warranties cover qualifying products and components. AMG Doors & Windows’ written workmanship warranty separately covers qualifying installation-related defects under the terms of the customer’s AMG agreement. Review the selected product’s terms and your installation agreement separately.
