PlyGem West Pro Replacement Windows
A simple design guide for choosing PlyGem West Pro Series 200 and 700 windows for your Bay Area home. AMG Doors & Windows helps Bay Area homeowners design and install PlyGem West Pro replacement windows for comfort, curb appeal, energy efficiency, and long-term value.
Choose Your PlyGem West Pro Window Type
Each room may need a different window style depending on ventilation, view, cleaning access, privacy, safety, and exterior appearance. Use this section like a product selector during the consultation.

Single Hung
A classic vertical window style with a clean appearance. Common for bedrooms, hallways, and traditional layouts.

Sliding
A horizontal-operating window for wide openings, bedrooms, and living rooms where easy side-to-side operation is preferred.

Picture
Fixed glass designed for maximum natural light, wide views, and energy efficiency where ventilation is not needed.

Bay
A projecting window configuration that adds dimension, natural light, and a larger design feature to the home.

Bow
A curved multi-window configuration that creates a softer architectural look and an expanded view.

Geometric
Specialty fixed shapes that add architectural style, daylight, and custom design appeal.

Casement
Hinged window that opens outward using a crank handle. Strong option for ventilation in kitchens, bathrooms, and modern layouts.

Awning
A top-hinged window that opens outward — common for bathrooms, kitchens, and where ventilation is needed with weather protection.

Choose Frame and Installation Type
PlyGem West Pro windows are available with frame options designed to work with different installation needs, building types, and architectural styles. AMG will review the existing window conditions, exterior finish, trim, stucco, siding, and water management needs before recommending the correct installation method.

Interior Colors
Standard integral vinyl interior
PlyGem West Pro Series interiors are offered in three standard integral vinyl colors. The pigment is mixed into the vinyl when the frame is extruded, so the color goes all the way through — no painting, no peeling, no touch-ups.
Additional interior options (such as laminated woodgrain or dark interior pairings) may be available on specific series and configurations. AMG will confirm what is offered for your project.
Exterior Colors
Integral vinyl + co-extruded dark exteriors
Exteriors start with the same three integral vinyl colors as the interior. For a dark exterior, PlyGem co-extrudes the dark color and the white substrate together as the profile is created — the color is integral to the window, not a coating that can chip or peel, and is backed by a 10-year warranty on the co-extruded color (per the current PlyGem West Limited Warranty).

How Co-Extrusion Works
Why a co-extruded dark exterior holds up where painted vinyl can fail
Co-extrusion is the manufacturing process PlyGem uses to build a dark exterior into the window itself. Two vinyl compounds — a white structural substrate and a darker, UV-engineered exterior layer — are pushed through the extrusion die at the same time and fuse permanently as the frame profile is formed. The dark color is part of the vinyl, not a coating applied afterward, so there is nothing on the surface that can chip, peel, or flake off.

- Engineered for the West. Formulated for the heat and UV exposure of the western United States — dark vinyl absorbs more heat, and co-extrusion is designed to resist the warping that affects painted vinyl.
- No coating to fail. Because the dark color is fused into the profile, there is no painted surface that can chip, peel, or flake — and a scratch will not expose a different color underneath.
- 10-year color warranty. The co-extruded color is backed for 10 years under the current PlyGem West Limited Warranty (effective 1/1/2025).

Rep FAQ · Co-Extruded Dark Exteriors
Common homeowner questions — quick answers for the consultation
Use these to handle the durability, scratching, and warranty questions that come up most often when a homeowner is looking at a black or bronze PlyGem West Pro window.
Why this list is short
PlyGem is a strong option for homeowners who prefer clean, practical, value-focused window colors rather than a large custom color palette. AMG Doors & Windows positions PlyGem as a value-focused Western Series option — not a premium custom-color line. If you need an expanded palette, woodgrain laminate interiors, or a fully custom exterior color, ask your AMG rep about Anlin or Andersen during your consultation.

Choose Glass Packages and Performance Ratings
The glass package is one of the most important decisions in a PlyGem West Pro window project. PlyGem offers glass options designed to improve comfort, reduce heat transfer, reduce glare, support ENERGY STAR and Title 24 performance needs, increase privacy, reduce outside noise, and add safety or security where needed.
Compare PlyGem glass options by comfort, solar control, insulation, daylight, sound, privacy, security, and safety.

Values reflect representative NFRC-rated configurations for PlyGem West Pro Series 200 (single hung & sliding) and Series 700 (casement & awning) windows with Warm Edge+ spacer and 3mm glass, no grilles. ENERGY STAR qualification must be confirmed using official NFRC and PlyGem data for the exact window ordered. All units are NAMI certified and rated per NFRC 100/200.
Choose Grille Patterns and Profiles
Grilles help match the home's architecture and create a more custom exterior look. Grilles between the glass (GBG) provide a smoother, easier-to-clean surface, while simulated divided lites (SDL) create the appearance of separate window panes.
